Internet Policies

Welcome to the Web pages of Awana Clubs International, hereafter referred to as Awana. The following information is provided to address common Internet issues and concerns. Please take a moment to review the following Internet policies of Awana. If you have any questions regarding these, please see the Contact section at the end of the policy statement.

PRIVACY AND THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Personal information that may be required or requested includes: name (first and last), full address, country, e-mail address, date of birth, gender, church name (where you attend/attended Awana), home phone number and credit card information (card type, number, expiration date). Awana requests only the personal information needed to facilitate an appropriate response.

The information that is collected is used only for and by Awana. Awana holds all such information as confidential and will never sell, lease or rent your personal information. Awana will always take appropriate security measures with the information you provide to us.

Protecting your personal information is critical to Awana. Therefore, Awana has contracted with a company that provides credit card processing for online transactions. The company uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts the information you input and stores it on secure computers.

SITE FEATURES:
Awana Ministry Guide Online
This is the e-commerce section of the Web site offered as an alternative for registered churches to order supplies for their ministry. No personal information is collected. Order totals are charged to the church account. A church will need their Customer # and a Password to place orders.

The Awana Store
This is the e-commerce section of the Web site offered to the general public. Awana will offer a limited number of products for individuals to order. A credit card and related information are required.

E-mail Newsletters
There may be opportunities to “subscribe” to one or more e-mail newsletters. If you decide you no longer wish to receive one or more newsletters, an "unsubscribe" feature will be available for each newsletter.

Message Boards
There may be one or more message board forums. Each area will require a separate registration. Those not registered will only be able to view content. Registered members will be able to submit messages and/or reply to posted messages. The registration consists of providing some personal information; required fields will be marked.

Message boards will be monitored by Awana. Messages that do not meet the stated guidelines will be removed. Awana reserves the right to remove any message at any time for any reason.

Online Giving
This is provided as an alternative method for individuals to give to the work of Awana, reaching boys and girls with the gospel of Christ. Donations may be designated for a particular region of the world or to the general work of Awana. A credit card and related information are required.

Polls/Questionnaires/Surveys
No personal identifying information will be gathered for these features. Some demographic information may be collected for internal purposes.

CHILD PRIVACY POLICIES AND CONSIDERATIONS
Awana supports parents' efforts to be involved with their child's Internet activity. Awana interaction with your child will be limited to one of the following scenarios:

  • Surveys/polls where your child can provide anonymous feedback on given questions or topics. Awana will not request any identifying information in this type of scenario, although we may request (but not require) age and gender information to give us a better understanding of kids and their preferences. Awana will not share this type of demographic information with any third parties.

  • Opportunity to give Awana direct feedback about the awana.org Web site. In this case, your child's e-mail will go to a designated address where limited persons within Awana corporate headquarters could view it. Note that your child's e-mail address will not be used for any reason unless his or her message requires an individual response. Awana will never share your child's e-mail address with any third parties.

  • If you have any other questions or concerns about Awana corresponding with your child, please see the Contact section at the end of this policy.
